FT Fault Torlerance

VMware FT compatibility requirements:

• same build number for ESX(i) hosts
• Common shared storage
• Single Processor machine
• Thin Provisioned disks not supported will be converted to thick disk automatically
• No Snapshots

FT Logging: (port group settings)

• Virtual NIC for FT Logging: checkbox
• separated from vMotion NIC recommended.

For VMware FT to be supported, the servers that host the virtual machines must use compatible processors selected from the categories as documented below. Processors within the same category are always compatible with each other. Note that AMD Opteron Barcelona processors are not compatible with Intel processors. 

Intel processor requires Intel Lockstep technology support in the CPUs and chipset, also the VT need to enabled at BIOS.

HA is required for FT at Cluster level.
